Just a few short months after photographing Matt’s proposal, I received an e-mail from Mayra excited to begin planning their engagement session.  With the Autumn weather upon us, we decided to head up to the Apple Hill area.  We arrived as the shops were closing, allowing for the perfect area to wander and explore the area of High Hill Ranch.  After wandering a bit, we found a perfect spot between the trees that happened to also be the parking lot area!  The lighting in the area was amazing, and a perfect location for the adorable picnic style set up Mayra had planned.  As the sun began to set,  we headed over to Madrona Vineyards to capture the sun setting behind them.  It has been so great getting to know these two over the past few months, and I know they are going to have a gorgeous destination wedding in their future!

Ashley & Ben’s wedding day could not have been any more perfect for the journey they were about to begin.  Their story began with a soda at the park and turned in to falling in love, building a family and now becoming husband and wife.  The next chapter in their love story was about to be written, starting at The Ridge Golf Club on an Autumn day that was absolutely beautiful.  Ashley & her girls were gathered in the bridal suite and the room was buzzing with excitement for the day ahead.  Little E made her way from the bridal suite down to where Ben and his groomsmen were tucked away, and it was a special sight to see Ashley & Ben share a special moment with their daughter before saying their vows.  Before they knew it, it was time for Ashley to walk down the aisle and let the new chapter begin to be written.
Ashley & Ben were surrounded by friends and family from all points of their lives, ready to love and celebrate with them for their new adventure ahead.
Congratulations, Ashley & Ben!  Let the adventure begin!

mmproposalblog-1I received a call on a Monday from Matt, searching for a photographer for the following evening.  He was on the hunt for a photographer to document the very big moment when he asked his girlfriend Mayra to be his wife.  It had been a bucket list item for a very long time to photograph a proposal so I was very excited that Matt and I were able to chat!
I met Mayra’s sister at the Capitol Rose Garden the next evening, and she was putting the finishing touches on the perfect spot for this special moment.  Family members picked a spot where they could watch the big moment from a distance without being spotted.  Everything happened so quickly, and it was such an honor to be there to capture this special day that forever marks the start of their wedding day planning.

kmwedblog-68Katie & Max were simply as cute as could be on their wedding day.  These two started their journey back together meeting through a mutual friend that attempted to set them up as dates for Junior Prom in high school.  While the date to prom was unsuccessful, a friendship on social media began and slowly turned in to so much more.  These two have been on many great adventures together, from working as Camp Counselors together at the Sacramento State Aquatic Center to journeying to the University of Wyoming for degrees in Engineering.  Katie & Max’s wedding day was as perfect as could be.  Their day together couldn’t have been more perfect, from the ceremony at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Auburn to the beautiful reception at The Flower Farm in Loomis.  All the little details these two put in to their wedding day truly made it the best day ever and the perfect kick off to their best journey that was about to begin.
Congratulations again, Katie & Max!

ashleybenengaged-3Ashley was referred to me by her bridesmaid and childhood neighbor, who happens to be one of my dance friends from years gone by!  These two have the simplest, but sweetest, love story ever and it has led them down an amazing road thus far.  These two began their relationship at Cobblestone Park in Rocklin, simply over Ashley bringing a soda to one of Ben’s friends.  From there, the love between them grew and even gave them an adorable little daughter.  I spent an afternoon with these two back in June walking around Folsom Lake for the perfect spots to capture these two before they tie the knot.  The weather was perfect, the area was exactly fit for this country loving duo, and these two were perfectly adorable the entire time!  Seriously, I had such a hard time narrowing down to just a few “peeks” as this session!  This Saturday is their big wedding day, and I am SO excited to celebrate the next step in their journey.
Congratulations again, Ashley and Ben.  The adventure is about to begin!

I can’t believe how time has flown by with these two!  When I photographed April & Mike’s engagement session, April asked me if I had heard from her mom or sister at all.  When I mentioned I hadn’t, she assured me that I likely soon would.  Sure enough, their mom Barbara messaged me and it was all becoming real!  I had photographed Robin previously when she graduated high school in 2012 and couldn’t believe that just a few years later, it would be time for her wedding day.  The couple began their wedding day at the Sacramento LDS Temple in Rancho Cordova, getting extremely lucky with no drops of rain falling from the sky that morning.  Robin & Nic’s day was filled with family and close friends both physically here with them and watching over from above.  A well loved Yoda plush took part in the day as a physical reminder of the father of the bride who was present in everyone’s heart that day.  After a busy morning of family portraits, the evening continue on the celebration for these two lovebirds back in Loomis at their family church building.  At the end of the night, these two headed off hand in hand to begin their new journey together, and I can just imagine what an adventure that will be!
Congratulations again, Robin & Nic.  I wish you all the best on your newest adventure together!  I know you two are quite a pair and will have a wonderful life together 🙂

Fun Fact: The ring photo above was taken on the same spot where Nic asked Robin to be his wife!
